What we need?
An aerodrome manager for Milford Sound/Piopiotahi Aerodrome located in the beautiful Milford Sound in the Fiordland National Park. The aerodrome manager will be responsible for operational management of the aerodrome, including maintenance, health and safety, and engagement with users of the aerodrome and other key local stakeholders.
What we don’t want?
• Bids for taking ownership of the aerodrome
• Suggestions for improving management of the aerodrome outside of the proposal for an aerodrome manager
• Commentary on landing charges or other costs of running the aerodrome not directly relevant to the proposal for an aerodrome manager
What’s important to us?
• Demonstrable experience and capability in asset management, particularly with regard to aerodrome operations
• Experience and knowledge of the aviation sector, including working with Civil Aviation Rules
• Experience and knowledge of health and safety issues and legislation
• Ability to gain and hold appropriate qualifications and regulatory responsibilities (e.g. ‘Senior Person’ as required under Civil Aviation Rule Part 139)
• Value for money – the services are provided at a competitive rate
Why should you bid?
This is a unique opportunity to work in the pristine and beautiful Milford Sound. It is one of New Zealand’s busiest tourist spots, with about 600,000 visitors in the last year. The busy Milford Sound Aerodrome is crucial to serving this tourist demand, with opportunities for an aerodrome manager to improve the efficient and safe functioning of operations.
