Masterton District Council invites Registrations of Interest (ROI) from suitable contractors who are experienced in the civil earthworks, engineered fill and road construction. We are seeking contractors to address a landslip on Tinui Valley Road, affecting a section between RP 5.654 and RP 5.731.
With damage caused around the network from previous years weather events, MDC is looking to repair some of them and restore the level of service on some of the key routes. This is a such site where the existing road has slipped downhill very close to the Tinui River. The current road condition is poor, having undergone multiple rebuilds due to various movements of the landslip over time.
The task involves constructing approximately 350m of new road alignment, including some drainage installation. An indicative preliminary markup plan has been attached as Appendix A. Please note these are just for reference for the purpose of ROI and not to be considered as construction drawings. The construction drawings will be issued during the site visit to contractors who have registered their interest.
Pre-condition:
Respondents must be an approved Contractor, as defined by MDC Health and Safety Manual (March 2016). The Contractors status as an Approved Contractor must be current over the duration of the Contract Term. A Sitewise prequalification guide is attached to this advertisement as Appendix B.
A respondent may become an Approved Contractor by registering through Sitewise and completing the prequalification assessment. If Tenderers are already certified with other providers (e.g. Totika etc.), they shall include certification with the ROI.
Alternatively, tenderers can also opt to be exempted (for this contract only) by completing form HS40 – Approved Contractor Application (Health and Safety), included as Appendix C.
All queries and ROI submissions are to be sent via email to Kaine Jaquiery kainej@mstn.govt.nz. Registrations of Interests close at 11 am, 12/04/2024.
