The Wairarapa Community and Masterton District Council (MDC) seek your Registration of Interest (ROI) for an airline passenger service operating out of Masterton Airport.
Masterton district and the Wairarapa have experienced strong growth in business and population in recent years. An important part of connecting Masterton and surrounding areas with the rest of the country and the world is having an airline operating into the area.
There has been strong demand for a new operation since Air New Zealand withdrew from the region. Local businesses and outside businesses operating in Masterton have expressed a desire to support a carrier operating into the town.
MDC wish to conduct this project in a collaborative and open manner with potential suppliers. Given that there may be some sort of financial contribution from MDC towards a viable airline operation MDC need to run this as a procurement exercise, but the process is intended to be as easy as possible while doing due process and due diligence to protect any ratepayer contribution.
