MYD intends to purchase Service(s) that promote the use of a positive youth development approach to support outcomes for young people aged 12 to 24 years with low to moderate needs across Aotearoa New Zealand so that they will be better able to succeed in, contribute to, and enjoy life. This opportunity will include two funds, the Youth Development Contributory Fund (Contributory Fund), and the Place-Based Youth Development Fund (Place-Based Fund).
The Contributory Fund will provide contributory funding to organisations providing short-term (minimum 15 hours of engagement) youth development programmes. Contributory funding will enhance the addition of a youth development approach to strengthen a wide range of youth programmes.
The Place-Based Fund will provide funding to locally-based organisations to deliver community-led programmes and/or Service(s) (minimum 15 weeks of engagement) that provide prevention/early intervention and strength-based youth development programmes. Community programmes and/or services will build trusting relationships with young people over an extended period through consistency of care.
