The Bay of Plenty region is the second largest of the Eleven Work and Income regions and is home to approximately 267,000 people. Our region is hugely diverse with sparsely populated rural communities and bustling urban city centres. Within the Bay of Plenty we have staff delivering services from the following service centres: Rotorua, Tauranga, Mount Maunganui, Bayfair, Greerton, Whakatane, Kawerau, Opotiki, Taupo, Turangi, Tokoroa, Murupara and Te Puke.
Clients will achieve the following whilst on the program:
Initial assessment – career plan
Basic computer skills assessment and needs addressed
Numeracy and Literacy assessment and needs addressed
Registration on MyAccount or MyMSD
Comprehensive CV and cover letter
Achievement of a drivers licence (either Learners, Restricted or Full and dependent on clients requirement)
Provide advice and training for interview skills and techniques including personal presentation, job applications, types of job searching, internet skills, goal setting, work ethic.
Support clients to develop solutions to barriers to employment i.e travel, childcare, training and experience
Career plan at completion of program.
It is expected that 80% of clients accepted onto the course will complete the programme.
The total value of services is $204,000 per annum targeting 140 clients
