The Bay of Plenty region is the second largest of the Eleven Work and Income regions and is home to approximately 267,000 people. Our region is hugely diverse with sparsely populated rural communities and bustling urban city centres. Within the Bay of Plenty we have staff delivering services from the following service centres: Rotorua, Tauranga, Mount Maunganui, Bayfair, Greerton, Whakatane, Kawerau, Opotiki, Taupo, Turangi, Tokoroa, Murupara and Te Puke.
MSD is seeking proposals to be submitted that are aimed at supporting unemployed Work and Income clients into sustainable employment. Participants will in general have been assessed by MSD as having a full-time work obligation (defined as needing to achieve at least 30 hours employment per week) or part time work obligation (defined as needing to achieve at least 20 hours employment per week).
The Service will be delivered to clients from all Work and Income sites in the Bay of Plenty Region and is expected to achieve 500 participant placements per annum.
All participant referrals to the service must be from Work and Income.
Employment Placement and Support
This aim of this component is to support clients into employment that results in an exit from benefit. Clients will receive expert employment related training and up skilling that will successfully assist the client into employment. Once employment is achieved both the client and employer will receive intensive post placement support for up to 182 days. During this time the Provider will support the needs of both the client and the employer, where appropriate, to create a sustainable employment environment.
The outcome targets of this service are that at least 50% of clients will achieve a benefit exit as a result of employment and remain off benefit for a period of 8 weeks after the completion of their participation on the service (being the earlier of either benefit exit due to employment or 12 week after commencing the service),
and of those placed into employment:
• 70% remain in employment and off benefit for 182 days
