Exotic Caulerpa Impact Studies Conditional Grant
Biosecurity New Zealand is seeking proposals for research focused on the long-term impacts of exotic caulerpa seaweed in locations with identified infestations. This initiative aims to enhance our understanding of this invasive species and inform future management strategies.
Conditional grant(s) funding available: total allocated funding $457,500
Applications Close: 4 November 2024, 5 pm.
The primary project output is to be a detailed impact assessment (strategic science) report on the long-term impacts of exotic caulerpa and recommendations for future management approach.
To be eligible, applicants must be a New Zealand-registered business or organisation, a registered charity, a Māori entity, an incorporated representative body, or a collective with an authorised legal representative. Proposals should demonstrate robust scientific methodology, relevant experience, and a clear understanding of health and safety management, alongside a commitment to open intellectual property sharing.
