Overview

The Ministry of Justice (the Ministry) is looking for a main construction contractor with a strong track record of successful delivery of projects within the Tasman/Marlborough region to complete works associated with the Blenheim Courthouse Registry Fitout project.

The fitout works will include the reconfiguration of the public reception area including counter cabinetry, a new interview room, the upgrade of security requirements, paint finishes, access control and fire alarm systems. Floor finishes and lighting will be replaced to the Ministry’s Courthouse Design Standards. In addition, there will be tempered fresh air supply to the interview rooms, along with alterations to other building services to comply with NZ Building Code. Supporting furniture will be installed, with new electronic sit to stand desks, storage facilities and other furniture in line with current Ministry standards.

To minimize disruption and maintain courthouse operation, the intention is to complete construction works after hours and in two stages.

The contract is anticipated to be awarded early May 2025.
