This Registration of Interest (ROI) is seeking new and innovative Kaupapa Māori Primary Mental Health and Addiction services. The service (once implemented) will address tangata whaiora (consumer) and whānau (family) needs in relation to their primary mental health and wellbeing and any concerns regarding substance use.
For the purposes of this ROI “primary mental health and addiction services” are services that offer a comprehensive range of supports including evidence informed therapy and treatment services as well as peer support, cultural support, self-management support and access to a range of social supports. These services are first point of contact services for people experience mild to moderate distress who are not eligible for secondary services. They can be delivered from a range of settings in the community. Please note, while the settings may include GP clinics, this is not a requirement of the Kawa (Service Specifications) – we have used the term “primary” in its broadest sense.
This ROI comprises of two different streams:
Tuakana (Established) Stream - Tuakana Stream is best suited for established Māori providers with well-developed infrastructure and services.
Tēina (‘Incubator’) Stream - Tēina Stream is our ‘incubator’ for new / smaller Māori providers with propositions that are developed, but would benefit from further support to get them contract ready and service-delivery ready.
This ROI can be responded to in one of two ways:
1. Orally - In a video – recorded on your phone
2. Written - via completing the applicable Response Form
We would welcome submissions in English or in Te Reo or a mixture of both.
