Expanding the access to, and choice of primary mental health and addiction support was a key need identified in He Ara Organa: The Government Inquiry into Mental Health and Addiction. The Mental Health and Addictions Directorate has established a Programme to implement the budget directive. Broadly speaking the Programme is seeking to expand access to existing primary mental health and addiction services for Pacific and develop existing Services that are aimed to better meet the needs of New Zealanders with mild to moderate mental health and addictions needs. The Programme includes targeted funding for priority groups, including Māori, Pacific, and youth.
This tender proposes to further enhance primary mental health and addiction for Pacific across Aotearoa New Zealand to expand mental health and addiction support for individuals with mild to moderate mental health and addiction support needs.
We are seeking your existing Services that will provide immediate support to address the needs of Pacific peoples with mild-moderate distress. Essential to these Services is ensuring there are effective mechanisms in place to link with general practice and secondary mental health and addiction services as required. This includes access to timely advice from secondary services and the general practice team.
Services that address youth and/or the elderly Pacific populations, will be given priority consideration. Additionally, services that have evaluated their services and/or have designed their services with their consumers will also be prioritised. Services that can demonstrate collaborative partnering with other organisations will be looked at favourably.
This RFP is seeking responses from Pacific service providers, whom are providers with majority Pacific governance and management providing pacific-specific services.
