Overview

Te Papa Biodiversity Research Centre – Main Contractor Registration of Interest (ROI)

Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa is seeking Registrations of Interest (ROI) from experienced Main Contractors for the construction of the new Biodiversity Research Centre (BRC). This facility will house Te Papa’s natural history wet collection, currently stored at its Spirit Collection Area (SCA) on Tory Street, Wellington. The wet collection contains irreplaceable specimens preserved in alcohol solutions, stored in various jars, pails, and tanks.

The BRC Project aims to acquire a new site, obtain necessary consents, and design and construct a state-of-the-art, purpose-built facility that will provide optimal environmental and safety standards for storing these collections. The main contractor will play a key role in delivering a high-tech facility that meets the museum's requirements and supports its research outputs.

This is a unique opportunity to work alongside New Zealand’s national museum to provide an innovative, high-quality facility, and contribute to preserving our nation’s scientific heritage.
