As a result of the economic impacts on the Mackenzie District caused by COVID-19, Council has resolved to inject a significant budget allocation into the 2020/21 financial year to stimulate economic activity within the district.
Part of the budget has been allocated to deliver $1.0m of district wide footpath and shared pathway upgrades in Twizel, Takapō/Tekapo and Fairlie.
In order to meet the Councils objectives to stimulate the local economy, and to help smaller contractors impacted by COVID-19, this Expression of Interest (EOI) has been prepared to identify the local contractor resources/availability and to enable direct appointment of small packages of work of up to $100,000 in value. There potentially could be multiple small packages of works let under this scheme.
We are requesting submissions of expression of interest for the construction of Shared Use Pathways in Twizel - Fairlie – Takapō/Tekapo for Mackenzie District Council.
