Meridian Energy is an integrated renewable energy company; the largest generator in New Zealand, with a strong pipeline of development options in Australasia; and an electricity retailer throughout New Zealand. Meridian generates electricity from renewable sources − wind and water in New Zealand; and wind in Australia.
The company supplies approximately 30% of New Zealand’s total electricity needs. Meridian owns and operates seven hydro power stations, six within the Waitaki Hydro Scheme, the Manapouri hydro power station and four wind farms throughout New Zealand. In Australia, Meridian owns and operates the Mt Millar and Mt Mercer wind farms.
Meridian is undertaking a replacement project for its Automated Outage Checker (AOC) Apex application. AOC was developed in 2005 as a standalone application that sources data from an external database. AOC is an application that records and classifies the impacts, on Meridian, of all known outages within the network; this includes all plant outages as well as known Transpower grid outages.
The Meridian Outage Engine (MOE) project is intended to improve the business processes for effective outage decisions and lower compliance costs in respect of our obligations to follow the Electricity Industry Participation Code (EIPC, also known as ‘The Code’).
Meridian is seeking proposals from supplier(s) for the development and support of a new Meridian Outage Engine.
