Overview

The outcome sought by this procurement is the securing of the services of a suitably qualified and experienced main contractor to undertake the proposed 5YA Remedial & Refurbishment Works at Matarau School.

The proposed scope of works encompasses 4x projects from the current 10 Year Property Plan including, including re-roofing works (#250968), electrical works (#250969), and internal / external refurbishments to Block7 (#250971) and internal refurbishment works to the main Admin & Senior classrooms building - Blocks 1,2 and 14 (#250972). These buildings are in poor condition, including rusted roofs in Block 1 and rotten wall framing caused by damaged direct fixed fibre cement cladding. The proposed scope of works also includes upgrading the school’s existing Type 2 Fire Alarm System to an MoE compliant Type 4 system – this work is a B24 Supplementary Funding project (#248573).

Due to the spread-out nature of the proposed works and the location of the internal works in Block 14 (admin building) the construction work will need to be staged to minimise disruption to the school.
