Overview

Dairy Flat School is a comprehensive school located at 1220 Dairy Flat Highway, Albany, Auckland.
The school is looking to upgrade the drinking water supply for the school and WSP have prepared a preliminary design report which includes a review of the existing infrastructure along with options and recommendations to improve the situation.
The preferred option includes the following scope:
1. Clean all roofs supplying rainwater and remove overhanging vegetation.
2. Install leaf screen and downpipe diverters on all downpipes used to collect roof water.
3. Reconfigure the roof water collection system to convey all water to new untreated water storage tanks.
4. Install four 30,000 L polyethylene (PE) untreated water storage tanks. Remove the existing untreated school water tanks. Install a first flush diverter, calmed bottom inlet and floating outlet on the first tank.
5. Relocate the pump currently supplying the hall to pump from the untreated water storage tanks to the new treatment plant.
6. Install a new compliant water treatment plant in a dedicated shed, including two-stage cartridge filtration, UV disinfection and chlorination.
7. Install a 10,000 L polyethylene (PE) treated water storage tank.
8. Install a new pump to supply the school buildings and hall
