1. Purpose
1.1 This document details the plan for procuring Construction of a NEW Classroom attached to existing BLK B & Deck Areas (the Contract Works) for the Board of Trustees (BOT) at CLIVE (the School).
1.2 This procurement will be conducted in accordance with the school property procurement framework (www.education.govt.nz: search “Procurement for school property projects”).
2. Background
2.1 Clive School are embarking on a project at BLK B enabling a new ROLL GROWTH Classroom for new entrant pupils which will be attached to existing Class room of similar Design
• Outcome sought -Provide flexible internal learning space and external Student breakout space
• History-Expanding Capacity for increasing roll.
• Requirement-Completion October 2017
• Project consultants are:
o Design-Dougan Larkworthy Team Architects Ltd ,Napier[e.g. Project Manager]: [name]
o Project Management-BPM Ltd-Harvey Burgess
3. The requirement
Required solution (method and approach)
The Contract Works required are:
3.1 New ROLL GROWTH Classroom,for new entrant pupils which will be attached to existing Class room of similar Design: This to include:

3.2 Scope of Works
• Nature of the Works –Demolition(limited) New Construction & renovation of existing class room & new decks & siteworks
• Size/scale- 77 SQ M New Builds /28 SQ M Existing Refurbish 94 SQ M Deck
• Part Playground & tree to be removed before construction commences.
• Work to be completed while school is operational. Therefore full H & S measures to be completed for the safety of the children & staff.
o The Contractor will be engaged through a Medium[under $500k} Works Contract (Construction contracts for professional services and works)
o Liquidated damages Clause may be operational
o Timeframes are:
• Start- MID July 2017
• Finish- MID October 2017
• Limitations- NIL.
3.3 To satisfactorily deliver the Contract Works, the Contractor must:
• have a comprehensive, workable programme for completing the Contract Works
• have a robust method, approach, systems and processes to effectively manage cost, time and quality risks
• operate a documented health and safety policy
