One of the Ministry’s School Property Strategic Plan priority work areas is to ensure that
schools are safe and in a good physical condition. As such, the Ministry has developed a
strategy in order to address weather-tightness, earthquake seismic strengthening, fire and
flood damage in school property. As part of this work stream the Ministry wishes to re-roof
Seatoun school.
A new Colorsteel MAXX roof is to be installed. The roof lanterns require new detailing at
apron to wall junctions. All penetrations to be backflashed. Existing spreader from upper
roof to be altered. All clerestory windows shall be screw fixed shut from the interi or. Interior
fixed glazing panels above each of six doors on the first floor are to be modified and an
opening hopper sash to be installed.
It should be noted by the contractor the lengths of the roofing material are in the region of
21m and this could affect the methodology of delivery. Please ensure you take this into
account within your submission.
