The Ministry of Education is responsible for managing the network of schools within New Zealand. In the Auckland region there is estimated to be an increase in the school age population of 107,000 by 2040.
A plan to manage Auckland school age population growth has been established which is working towards detailed plans based on forecasted growth in school networks for each 5 year period until 2030.
This RFP is seeking persons, or organisations that can facilitate a consultation process for a prioritised list of schools within the Auckland Growth strategic initiatives. The Auckland region is broken down in to a number of schools networks; in total nine of those networks are on the priority list of those most likely to be impacted by the increase in school aged pupils with in a regions and one is involving Maori medium provision.
The Ministry is seeking respondents to work on each network. The respondent can put forward a proposal for any number of the ten reports and will have their RFP proposal assessed on only the reports they choose to apply for under this RFP process.
The role of the respondent is: information gathering which will include using data provided by the Ministry and further adding to that information by facilitating meetings with school principals and boards of trustees, plus meetings with council and developers to understand their strategies for population growth in their area or region.
Recommendations are then to be made on the management of the school age population growth for each of the ten networks. These recommendations will form the basis of community consultation and eventually any capital works projects which may be required in the future.
A supplier briefing will be held on the 22nd July 2014 at the Ministry's Auckland offices: 12-18 Normanby Road, Mt Eden
Suppliers are required to confirm attendance at the briefing by the 18th July 2014.
