The Ministry of Education (Ministry) has responsibility for the planning, design, construction and management of the network of state schools to provide for the education of school-age students and is intending to let a contract for the design and construction of new facilities for Mulberry Grove School on Gt. Barrier Island.

Mulberry Grove School is located at 271 Shoal Bay Road, Gt. Barrier Island, is sited on 0.4979 hectares and has a current gross building area of approx 395 square metres. The school roll is currently approximately 36 students.

The existing buildings situated on the MGS site are in an average and aged condition and as such the Ministry is seeking to redevelop the Mulberry Grove School site in alignment with the Ministry's objective to provide Modern Learning Environments and provide students and staff with facilities to strengthen education delivery and learning experiences for students at the school.

The Ministry is seeking proposals from suitably qualified consortia to deliver a full scope design & build solution summarised ast the following;
• Classroom/Library Block – 253m2 – Indicative layout included at appendix A
• Administration Block – 155m2– Indicative Layout included at Appendix A
• New Sanitary Drainage Field to suit building facilities,
• Decking and Circulation
• Foundation works
• Services - Existing Generator on site (recently upgraded)
- Rain harvesting System
- I.T.
• Demolition and Disposal of existing buildings – as indicated in appendix B
• Landscaping
