Overview

Tu’u Mālohi is a stand-alone programme that would be developed to cater to Pacific learners in Years 9 to 13, their parents’, families and communities and their schools.

The Tu’u Mālohi programme will enable strengthened Pacific wellbeing for parents, learners, families, and communities by providing opportunities to understand how to identify racism, build resilience and learn skills and strategies to minimise their impact. Tu’u Mālohi will also provide a talanoa/talanoaga session for schools in the specific Pacific communities it rolls out in. This will build their understanding and critical consciousness of cultural bias and racism within a school context. Providers delivering the Pacific Wellbeing initiatives will ensure they are culturally safe, utilising Pacific education expertise and mentors who are leaders in the communities of delivery. In addition, Tu’u Mālohi will have a clinician-based post workshop component called Talanoa Circles that will provide a space for young people to continue to engage with clinical expertise for ongoing support.

Tu’u Mālohi is a new initiative that aims to support Pacific learners to identify racism, build resilience and learn skills and strategies to minimise its impact on wellbeing. The Buyer wishes to appoint providers to deliver the Tu’u Mālohi programme in the identified locations in their local community.
