Special Needs Modifications (major works) at 5 Schools

Details

a. The scope of works for each of the SNM (major works) projects is as noted below, and the supplier
will be required to deliver the works as scheduled, while the school/s remain open during the
construction period.
Rosehill College:
New raised (& covered) walkway / bridge between two existing two-storey Nelson block classroom
buildings (S & C Blk) with a new addition to one building to take a new passenger lift and associated
landing area.
It is anticipated that there will be Asbestos wall cladding panels that will be removed as part of the
project works at Rosehill College, and the Respondent will have to carry out this work in
accordance with MoE guidelines.
Northcote College:
New access deck to the front of an existing classroom block (C Blk) including access steps and
ramps, Internal alterations to existing sick bay area, installation of a new platform lift to the existing
hall stage, New passenger lift (stand-alone building) to the lower campus area, New raised (and
covered) walkaway / bridge along the front of an existing two storey Nelson block classroom
building (F Blk), Exterior paving and landscape works to provide an accessible route between C & D
Block areas, and a new footpath and associated retaining walls along the perimeter of the playing
fields to link the upper and lower campus areas.
It is anticipated that there will be Asbestos wall cladding panels that will be removed as part of the
project works at Northcote College, and the Respondent will have to carry out this work in
accordance with MoE guidelines.
Bayswater School:
New access deck to the front of an existing classroom block, including new access steps and ramps.
New Special Needs Bathroom addition to the rear of the existing building with internal alterations
to the sick bay, and reading room areas to accommodate the new bathroom.
Pukekohe East School:
New site storm water drainage development works, new drive and accessible parking area sealing
works, and a new accessible footpaths leading from the entry, to the reception area, playing courts,
and the satellite classrooms.
Te Matuaranga School:
New internal alteration works to existing accessible bathroom to convert to a special needs
bathroom facility.
b. The works at each school maybe tendered individually e.g. one Tender for the works at one school,
and another Tender for the works at another, or the works at one or more schools maybe batched
together.
