The Priority Products Stewardship is a New Zealand Governmental initiative that aims at supporting a shift from linear to circular economy and at reducing the amount of waste ending up in landfills or polluting the environment. The New Zealand Government has declared six priority products for regulated product stewardship under the Waste Minimisation Act 2008 including tyres. The Crown owns the tyre Product Stewardship Fee (PSF) revenue and will be responsible for collecting the tyre PSF from all liable parties (either directly or via other agencies) and for funding the accredited Product Stewardship Organisation (PSO)’s activities under new regulations from March 2024 onwards. A PSO is accredited for a period of seven (7) years.
Ministry for the Environment (MfE) seeks to contract a suitably experienced supplier to manage Accounts Receivable (AR) activities for the tyre PSF on behalf of MfE, utilising the supplier’s existing AR solution.
