Overview

Reporting Synthetic Greenhouse Gases in the Industrial Processes and Product Use sector of New Zealand’s National Greenhouse Gas Inventory Report contract is focussed on the compilation of New Zealand’s emissions data from the use of the synthetic gases and nitrous oxide. This work covers part of the National Greenhouse Gas Inventory Programme (the GHG Inventory) that is New Zealand’s international obligation under the UNFCCC and the Kyoto Protocol.
The Ministry for the Environment (the Ministry) is seeking to appoint technical experts who will be responsible for collection and processing the data and contribute to producing the Industrial Processes and Products Use (IPPU) sector of the GHG Inventory. The Ministry will provide leadership, coordination and technical advice for this work.
The GHG Inventory is an on-going programme that will continue beyond 2019. Therefore, it is possible that we will apply for extension of the contract in three years’ time following a review of scope and supplier services.

This procurement relates to the delivery of the IPPU sector of the GHG Inventory submission. Previously these have been provided through contracted technical services.
