The Cyber Security and Support Capability (CSSC) is a Ministry of Defence (MOD) led programme that is tasked with updating and supporting the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) cyber capabilities.
There are a number of workstreams within the programme which combine to enhance NZDF cyber capabilities. For security reasons, these workstreams will not be publicly advertised in their entirety. However, the programme is seeking commercial solutions for components of the wider cyber defence system.
For the first part of the programme Defence is seeking an industry partner to provide a Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) system that will build on and enhance the current defence capability in this area.
This procurement process will follow a 2-stage process, namely:
1. An ROI to down-select Respondent(s) to go through to the next stage;
2. A competitive dialogue process for Defence to collaborate with the down-selected Respondent(s) to refine our outcomes and ultimately select a successful Supplier.
This CSSC ROI procurement process for SIEM enhancements will then inform a Project Implementation Business Case (PIBC), which subject to approval and Budget decisions, will release funds for procuring and delivering the SIEM in late 2025 for an initial agreement of three years.
