The community organisation refugee sponsorship (CORS) pilot is an opportunity for community organisations to actively participate and support newly arrived refugees in their settlement journey. An extension of this pilot has been approved and will assist the settlement of up to 50 refugees per year from 2021 until 2024 (150 sponsored refugees).
As part of wider Extended CORS project, a co-design process has taken place to develop a community architecture or model, which will support the delivery of the programme. Part of that model requires the engagement of an umbrella organisation (UO), which will support the delivery of the extended CORS category.

Following an open tender process, the Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment (15 Stout Street, Wellington) has awarded this tender to Host International New Zealand (169 The Terrace, Wellington). The contract was awarded in October 2021 for a term of 3 years, with up to 2 extensions of a maximum of one year each. The anticipated spend under this agreement is approximately $400,000 per year.
