KiwiRail's T2UH Duplication Project intends to construct the final section of double track main line between Trentham and Upper Hutt to realise additional operational capacity in the Wellington Metro Rail Network.
The project will include the construction of 2.7km of main line, two new station platforms, new station shelters to three platforms, a pedestrian underpass, upgrades to existing station platforms, level crossing upgrades, integration with signals renewals, and upgrades to the Upper Hutt Station area.
In August 2019, KiwiRail intends to go to market seeking experienced suppliers, with in-house capability in BIM and digital engineering, to deliver the physical works phase of the project.
