Overview

Kapiti Coast District Council require an increase in capacity of its overflow pond at the existing Paraparaumu Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) and an upgrade of its Waikanae Pump Station overflow pond. This is physical works, measure and value contract which include:

• Laying a new DN675 RCRRJ 146m long treated effluent discharge pipe, including new stream discharge headwall structure and associated Manholes.
• Removal of the existing DN525 treated effluent discharge pipe, abandoned DN450 pipe, emergency spillway, bank liner and existing pond outlet pump sump.
• Disconnection and temporary relocation of existing solar panel array and reinstallation upon completion,
• Earthworks to increase the capacity of the existing overflow pond by deepening of the pond base and raising the ponds bund level, including the reinstatement of the adjacent access track.
• Construction of a new emergency spillway including mechanical seals to new pond liner
• Design, supply and installation of a gas venting system beneath a geosynthetic pond liners for both the Paraparaumu WWTP and Waikanae Pump Station overflow ponds by a reputable Subcontractor specialising in the supply and installation of Geosynthetic liners. The Principal seeks Guarantees and Warranties on the liner installation and materials respectively.

Critical to this project will be maintaining full functionality of the existing WWTP and Waikanae PS at all times throughout the contract works.
