Breast Cancer Research in New Zealand 2017

The Health Research Council of New Zealand (HRC), Breast Cancer Cure (BCC) and The New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation (NZBCF) previously established the Breast Cancer Research in New Zealand initiative to fund innovative research into breast cancer in New Zealand.

The funding partners are pleased to release a fourth Request for Proposals (RFP) document through this partnership. The funding partners are seeking high quality, innovative research that will seek to improve and ultimately ensure survival from the disease. Applicants will look to identify potential targeted and immune therapies for breast cancer with a focus on: targeted treatments, aspects of early detection, prognostic and predictive diagnoses, or preventative therapies.

Applications to this RFP will be submitted via a one-stage process. Applicants are firstly required to submit a Registration via the HRC’s online portal HRC Gateway. Registrations are due 1pm, Thursday 3 November 2016. The full application will need to be submitted via the HRC Gateway by 1pm, Thursday 1 December 2016.

A total funding pool of approximately $400,000 (exclusive of GST) is available for allocation. The funding partners invite applications for funding of up to $200,000 (exclusive of GST) and duration of up to 24 months.
