Overview

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora (HNZ) is seeking a provider to deliver the Community Hepatitis C Service across the Te Manawa Taki region (Waikato, Lakes, Bay of Plenty, Taranaki, and Tairāwhiti). This well-established, community-centred service ensures Hepatitis C testing, treatment, and care are accessible to those most at risk.

The service utilises a fully equipped mobile van (provided by HNZ), enabling nurses to deliver clinical assessments and care directly within the community. Additionally, a trusted network of community providers and pharmacies offer point-of-care testing, allowing for immediate linkage to assessment and treatment. This proven model has been highly effective in reaching high-risk populations who often face significant barriers to healthcare and may be distrustful the health system.

The ideal provider will have strong community relationships, a deep understanding of the region’s diverse needs, and the ability to collaborate with key stakeholders, such as Hauora Maori and community providers, pharmacies, addiction services, and correctional facilities. They must also demonstrate the ability to build on the service's success, further expanding its reach and impact while ensuring equitable access to Hepatitis C care.

This is a unique opportunity to lead an innovative, community-driven initiative that reduces health inequities, prevents serious liver disease, and improves long-term health outcomes.

Tenders close at 12pm on Tuesday 15 April 2025 and must be submitted electronically via GETS.
