Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora (Health NZ) is seeking a provider to deliver the Community Hepatitis C Programme across the Te Manawa Taki region (Waikato, Lakes, Bay of Plenty, Taranaki, and Tairāwhiti). This well-established, community-centered programme ensures Hepatitis C testing, treatment, and care are accessible to those most at risk. The programme utilises a fully equipped mobile van (provided by Health NZ), enabling nurses to deliver clinical assessments and care directly within communities. Additionally, a trusted network of Hauora providers and pharmacies offers point-of-care testing, allowing for immediate linkage to assessment and treatment. This proven model has been highly effective in reaching high-risk populations, including people who inject drugs, those experiencing homelessness, and individuals recently released from prison. These groups often face significant barriers to healthcare and maybe distrustful the health system
The ideal provider will have strong community relationships, a deep understanding of the region’s diverse needs, and the ability to collaborate with key stakeholders, such as Hauora providers, pharmacies, addiction services, and correctional facilities. They must also demonstrate the ability to build on the programme’s success, further expanding its reach and impact while ensuring equitable access to Hepatitis C care. This is a unique opportunity to lead an innovative, community-driven initiative that reduces health inequities, prevents serious liver disease, and improves long-term health outcomes.
Note:
This is a Future Procurement Opportunity (FPO). It is an alert to providers of a potential upcoming procurement activity. It does not represent a commitment by Health NZ to procure. The full submission criteria and RFP process will be published on GETS in March 2025. When the RFP is live, respondents will only be able to ask questions via GETS and answers will only be published via GETS. The RFP will provide information about how respondents can ask questions.
