Overview

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora (Health NZ) in house food services located in Waikato, Hawkes Bay, Hutt Valley and Canterbury Districts provide circa 3.9million meals to patients, communities and staff each year. Surety of supply and contingencies for supply in instances of road closures, pandemics and natural disasters is critical to our operational requirements.

Health NZ is seeking to appoint a panel of suppliers across product categories and locations (North Island, South Island, NZ-wide) for up to 5 years (4+1) for security of supply across five main food categories;
Dairy
Bread
Meats
Fresh Fruit and Prepared Vegetables
Pantry items

Additionally, milk supply to Auckland and Northland Districts.

The objective of this procurement is to ensure quality products that meet food safety and allergen management requirements are efficiently delivered to each individual site across the motu. In addition, we are looking to achieve cost savings based on combined volume and standardisation of SKU’s with harmonised pricing for all participating Districts.
