The delivery of this project, which is to design and construct major sewer and stormwater upgrades in a ‘brownfield’ environment (including approximately 1.1 to 1.5 kilometres of sewer, 2 kilometres of new stormwater pipelines, pumping stations and river outfalls), is being progressed through this contract on an Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) basis.

The principal objective of which is to have the Contractor involved early in the project development, so they can influence and take ownership of the project design, with a view to achieving greater cost effectiveness and cost certainty in construction, as well as expediting overall delivery.

The ECI contract involves 3 separable portions of:
• Separable Portion 1a – Preconstruction services including constructability reviews, investigations and preliminary (consent-level) design delivery.
• Separable Portion 1b – Detailed design services resulting in a detailed design for pricing.
• Separable Portion 2 – Construction services
