Overview

The HBDHB is embarking on providing a new Histology Laboratory into a shell only space in an existing building completed to IL4 in approximately 2004.
HBDHB is seeking the services of an experienced construction firm with expertise in the field of laboratory fit out to undertake the main contractor roll for this project.

A brief description of the project is as follows
• Provide for a new Histology Laboratory and complete the Education Centre fit out in the vacant space on the first floor of the AAU/Library building consisting of approximately 338m2.
• The laboratory is to include a wet lab area a dry lab area and associated offices and store rooms
• The education centre fit out consists of three seminar rooms a data hub room and toilets.
• A substantial portion of the project is the installation of air conditioning to all areas and delivery of fresh air and extract to the laboratories.
• The laboratory will be predominately completed by a specialist laboratory fit out contractor who will be a nominated subcontractor to this project.
The site has direct access from Gate 5 on Canning Rd and there will be some off street parking available for contractors. The construction zone has been identified on the Architectural plans and there is space allowed for site sheds and storage within this zone. A detailed construction plan will be required and special attention to working hours and heavy machinery movement will need to be closely coordinated with the HBDHB facilities team to ensure minimal disruptions to the wider public and staff.
