Hawke’s Bay District Health Board is calling for registrations of interest from suitably experienced Commercial / Industrial Electrical Engineering Contractors for a range of Electrical Services projects to be undertaken in the course of ongoing capital projects execution.
Individual projects will be tendered separately according to their nature and the capability of approved contractors. Contractors will be expected to have wide ranging experience in all normal electrical services trades and to deliver a high standard of workmanship within specified timeframes. All electrical contractors are to have a good knowledge of Body Protected & Cardiac Protected electrical areas and their requirements.
Contractors shall have a demonstrated ability to demolish, refurbish and construct new systems around business critical hospital plant and operations and will be required to successfully manage and control subcontractors in these environments.
Electrical Services projects will be undertaken for a variety of upgrading works in various areas of the hospital and will be related to amongst others the following:
• General Lighting & Power Outlet Installations
• Power outlet installations in Body & Cardiac Protected electrical areas including all specific earthing and inspection requirements
• Switchboard upgrades, manufacture & installation
• Essential & non-essential power change-over systems
• Submain cable reticulation and installations
• UPS systems
• General electrical control equipment and systems
• Interfacing controls into the Building Management Systems
The extent of the works required for the various projects would typically comprise of the decommissioning, removal and making good where required, supply, installation, pre-commissioning, attendance on commissioning, testing, placing into service and warranty of electrical and control equipment and systems and includes, but is not limited to the following:
• Planning, programming and managing the execution of the work in detail
• Fully conversant with all requirements of AS/NZS 3000:2007 Electrical Installations and AS/NZS 3003:2011 Electrical Installations-Patient Areas
• Provision of shop drawings for approval for all aspects of the projects
• Seismic design of restraints for all plant and equipment
• Removal of obsolete electrical services equipment as required
• Procurement of all equipment and plant (light fittings, power outlets, etc.) as required by the specifications
• Provision of new electrical ser
