Maintenance & IQP Certification - Fire & Mechanical Systems for HBDHB

Hawke’s Bay District Health Board (HBDHB) invites suitable Respondents to submit Expressions of Interest to provide services to HBDHB for the Maintenance & Independent Qualified Person (IQP) Certification of Fire and Mechanical Systems. The services sought cover the on-going maintenance and annual IQP certification of the Fire Protection & Mechanical Systems of various Hawke’s Bay District Health Board (HBDHB) owned and leased premises.

The services will generally involve all testing, recording, surveys and any required maintenance work as a result of faults, defect or system breakdown that needs to be undertaken in accordance with the requirements contained in the Compliance Schedules, the Building Code and related specifications, including sprinkler surveys and valve overhauls, etc. It is proposed to be a comprehensive contract to ensure systems remain in compliance at all times. Systems shall be maintained so that they are operational at all times.

Not all premises and/or systems require full maintenance and testing services to be provided as some of these services are provided by in-house HBDHB personnel. Where this occurs, the successful respondent will be required to provide annual IQP certification for Building Warrant of Fitness purposes.

• SS2 - Fire Alarm Systems, including EWIS
• SS3/3 - Fire Doors; Stand Alone, Smoke Detector Operated & Interfaced Fire/Smoke Doors
• SS4 - Emergency Lighting Systems
• SS6 - Riser Testing
• SS6 - Hydrant Testing and Maintenance
• SS14/1 - Emergency Generator
• SS14/2 - Owner checks for signs relating to specified systems
• SS15/2 - Final exits
• SS15/3 - Fire separations
• SS15/4 – Signs for Communicating Evacuation Information
• SS15/5 – Smoke separations
• Hand Held Fire Equipment Servicing
• SS9 - Mechanical Ventilation/Air Conditioning
• SS9 - Fire Damper Servicing
• SS11 - Fume Cupboards
