The B4 School Check is the eighth and final contact service in the Well Child /Tamariki Ora National Schedule. It is a universal comprehensive screening and health education opportunity for four year olds and their parents/guardian(s) /caregivers. The B4 School Check is a free health and development check for every child in New Zealand.
Specifically this service must meet the objectives of the B4 School Check Service which are to:
• promote health and wellbeing in preschool children and ensure that children are prepared for school
• identify any health, behavioural, or developmental concerns that may adversely affect a child’s / tamariki ability to learn in the school environment
• make appropriate and timely referrals to improve child health and education outcomes, and reduce inequalities.
Respondents will indicate that they wish to be the service coordination for the whole region and/or be the service deliverer for the whole region or a specific sub region/population (e.g.: Wairoa only or Napier/ Hastings quintile 5 areas).
