Overview

Tenders are invited for:

The Hastings District Council (HDC) invites suitably qualified and experienced architects (NZRAB registered) to submit proposals for the provision of architectural services for the proposed Hawkes Bay Opera House Plaza Development in Hastings.

The Hawkes Bay Opera House Plaza Redevelopment is proposed for the creation of a multi-functional indoor venue that improves the ability to attract more frequent events. The Redevelopment involves replacing the existing fabric roof with a permanent and solid roofing system, so that it provides a waterproof indoor space with improved acoustics and environmental control in terms of heating, cooling and ventilations. The Redevelopment also involves levelling the existing stepped Plaza ground to create more useable space and easy traffic flows.

The design of the Opera House Plaza’s new roof and interior spaces will have a sense of presence with an opportunity for an exciting and innovative design approach.

The proposed architectural services is phased in two stages. Stage one: Conceptual Design; Stage two: Design Development and Construction.
