This project aims to implement a system that will bring ECGs into a centralised repository for the South Island. It is envisaged ECGs will be collected electronically from District Health Boards (DHBs), Primary Healthcare Organisation and Ambulance. ECGs would then be made available to all clinical persons across the South Island via direct access to the system or HCS and electronic Shared Cared Record Viewer eSCRV.
This project will also aim to include other related physiological test. These would include but not limited to ECG holter test, Exercise tolerance test and Ambulatory blood pressure test.
Health Alliance will conduct a national ECG device selection process and will align with this project and provide guidelines for the procurement of ECG devices based on the projects end product selection.
