Overview

In December 2020, Cabinet approved the progressive procurement policy aimed at increasing the diversity of Government suppliers. All mandated government agencies will be required to award at least 5% of their yearly procurement contracts to Māori businesses.

For this policy, a Māori business is defined as:
- having at least 50% Māori ownership; or
- a Māori Authority as defined by the Inland Revenue Department.

HealthSource, on behalf of Auckland DHB, Counties Manukau DHB, Northland DHB, and Waitematā DHB, is seeking information from Māori Businesses who supply to the Northern Region and any supplier who wishes to in the future.
