Gisborne District Council (Council) currently manages parks and facilities asset maintenance through 23 formal contracts, 17 informal arrangements and several one off contracts (for smaller one off capital renewals). These arrangements have developed over the last 10 years without an overarching procurement strategy or plan resulting in Council not being able to coordinate and manage service delivery efficiently and effectively as mandated by the Local Government Act or to the quality specified in the Long Term Plan (LTP).
The purpose of this notice of information (NOI) is to inform potential suppliers of parks and amenities maintenance services of Gisborne District Council's intent to undertake a procurement process early in 2017 for new contracts to take effect on or about July 1 2017. Council is seeking participation from all suitably qualified suppliers. Potential suppliers are encouraged to provide any feedback that will assist Council in meeting its objectives of a robust, fair and competitive process within the constraints of the time frames indicated in the document.
