Overview
There is an annual fireworks display in Gisborne on 1 January called the Walter Findlay – Quality Bakers of Gisborne – Fire in the Sky. The fireworks display is held at the confluence of the Taruheru and Waimata Rivers. Walter Findlay Ltd has funded and organised the fireworks display annually since 2001. The event attracts crowds of up to 10,000 between the hours of 6pm – 10pm.
The Gisborne District Council is seeking proposals to undertake the management of the community event Fire in the Sky 2017 to be held on the night of 1 January 2017.
Following the receipt of proposals Council hopes to select one of the parties with which to develop a contract for the work.
