Overview

Where do people go when they move off benefit? The Social Policy Evaluation and Research Unit (Superu) wants to commission a research supplier to examine peoples’ transitions off benefit (referred to as ‘off-benefit transitions’). We are interested in transitions such as getting a job, enrolling in education, or leaving the country.

The research will answer the following questions:
1. What types of transitions off-benefit occur?
2. What are the characteristics of the individuals associated with the different types of transitions?
3. Have transition patterns changed over time?

The research will use Statistics New Zealand Integrated Data Infrastructure (IDI). The research supplier will work in partnership with Superu to design, undertake, and report upon the research.
