This RFQ is issued by Chief Executive, Cyclone Recovery.
The Chief Executive, Cyclone Recovery (CE CR) is undertaking an open competitive process procurement for a Crown representative (the representative).
The Whenua Māori and Marae Pathway (the Pathway) was established as part of the Government’s approach to recovery from the 2023 North Island Weather Events (NIWE). The purpose of the Pathway is to support people residing on whenua Māori and in Māori communities severely affected by the North Island Weather Events (NIWE) where the local council has identified the property as presenting an intolerable risk to life from future weather events. The Pathway enables those eligible to move out of harm’s way, by enabling them to relocate their home or Marae to safer places.
The Crown is providing funding to allow seven Marae to relocate from locations that present an intolerable risk to life (Category 3 land). The Crown representative will be added to the governance mechanisms for each of the seven Marae relocation projects. Their primary role will be to represent the Crown’s interests as primary investor for these projects.
