Overview

The goal of Tools to Market is to make smarter, safer, and more effective tools and technologies available to the Predator Free 2050 community within a 1- to 5-year timeframe. Tools to Market supports the ambitious goal of Predator Free 2050, to rid New Zealand of the most damaging introduced predators that threaten our nation’s natural taonga, economy and primary sector. The procurement round aims to accelerate the delivery of new and improved tools and technologies to enable availability in the New Zealand market.

The proposed themes for the tools and technologies being considered for this procurement round are:

o Theme 1: Landscape-scale control tools to target rodents and mustelids, including at low densities.
o Theme 2: Surveillance and notification tools and technology for detecting predators, including at low densities.
o Theme 3: Tools that improve the efficiency of control operations or remove limitations to use of existing tools.
o Theme 4: Tools to identify the status of individuals at low density. (E.g. survivor vs arriver, relatedness of individuals, geographic provenance).

The RFP will contain fuller information on the themes and the attributes DOC will be seeking in the proposed tools and technologies.

DOC is not taking questions at this time. Future Procurement Opportunities are to advise the market of potential upcoming opportunities which may or may not be progressed. If the project is progressed, you will be notified. Any further information about this opportunity will be available on GETS if/when we go to market.
