The overall objective and required works for this project are to:
i. Upgrade the existing 3,500m Tawa Loop track to DOC Day Visitor standard, including upgrading track formation, surface, installation of culverts and water control features. Construction of structures such as, boxed steps, retaining walls and handrails. Removal of old/defective track infrastructure. As per the track design plan.
ii. Construction of new ~400m track to DOC Day Visitor standard, including construction of a new track to the above standard and incudes new track formation, surface, installation of culverts and water control features. Construction of structures such as, boxed steps, retaining walls and handrail, as per the track design plan.
To achieve this the Department’s Day Visitor, track standard guide is to be followed for all aspects of construction.
