Overview
To protect our native wildlife the Department of Conservation (DOC) has implemented the “Battle for our Birds” (BfoB) pest control programme. The key objectives of the programme are to:
• prevent any local extinction of New Zealand’s most vulnerable species;
• minimise predator damage to our most valuable ecosystems; and
• improve efficacy and efficiency of pest management to control rodents, mustelids and possums.
The objective of this procurement is to establish a nationwide panel of appropriately experienced and accredited suppliers to provide security services in support of the BfoB programme who can deliver security services for scheduled operations as and when required.
