Overview
The Dunedin City Council provides a kerbside collection for rubbish and recycling in urban areas and rural townships.
As part of the 2021-31 ten year plan the Dunedin City Council has approved moving away from using plastic rubbish bags for household rubbish and the introduction of new options to encourage more recycling and less waste. The benefits include reduction in greenhouse gas emissions from landfill as well as Health and Safety benefits for kerbside collection contractors.
As part of this new approach, Council intend to add separate collections for food waste and garden waste.
This RFT is for the supply of 50,000 23 litre Food Waste bins, 50,000 Kitchen Caddies and 25,000 240 litre Organic Recycling bins.
