Overview

We need supplier(s) who can provide waste services for Dunedin City Council. Waste services included in this procurement are:
• Kerbside Collections –
o Introducing a fortnightly 80-140L bin for general waste collection
o Retention of the 45L glass crate and the 80-240L mixed recycling bin fortnightly collections and extending the services to non-urban properties
o Introducing a 23L food waste weekly collection
o Introducing a 240L garden waste fortnightly collection on an opt in basis
o Non-standard services for multi-unit dwellings, rural properties and assisted services
o Collections within the CBD area, and
o Emptying of litter bins across the city.

• Green Island Resource Recovery Park Precinct (RRPP) Development and Operation – The exact service requirements are to be confirmed but may include:
o Design, build and operation of a new organics processing facility (OPF) (priority for delivery) food with opt-in green waste for consumers
o Design, build and operation of a new materials recovery facility (MRF)
o Construction and demolition waste sorting
o Bulk waste transfer station
o Sourcing of end markets and sale of reused and recycled materials

• Operation of Council Transfer Stations (Waikouaiti and Middlemarch), including existing resource recovery activities.
