Overview

Christchurch Men’s Prison Redevelopment Market Briefing

The Department of Corrections (Corrections) is currently preparing to deliver the Christchurch Men’s Prison Redevelopment Programme. Christchurch Men’s Prison (CMP) is a critically important prison and is the primary high security site for the South Island.

To inform the Detailed Business Case, Corrections undertook market engagement to inform our preferred delivery approach

Since then, Cabinet has approved the Detailed Business Case for the redevelopment of CMP under a Public-Private Partnership model (PPP). Prior to commencing formal procurement, Corrections intends to brief the market on this opportunity on Wednesday 26 February at 11:00am NZDT in Christchurch. The session will also be live-streamed.

At the briefing Corrections will cover:

• Scope of the programme and timelines
• Preliminary project risk allocation
• Approach to project phasing

An Information Memorandum (IM) is available seeking feedback from potential future partners prior to the commencement of the procurement process.

If you wish to attend the briefing, please register your interest via CMPRP@corrections.govt.nz with the subject line ‘[Organisation Name] – CMP Briefing Registration’ no later than 5pm on Tuesday 25 February 2025.

This briefing is for parties likely to be directly involved in the delivery of the CMP Redevelopment. Due to venue capacity constraints, Corrections reserves the right to request that participants attend via the live-stream.
Once you have registered, please keep a look out for further information to join the session.
