Environment Canterbury is currently located across seven different office locations in Christchurch. A new building on Tuam Street is being constructed which includes a fully fitted cafeteria. Relocation is planned for March / April 2016. Environment Canterbury is seeking proposals from suitably experienced applicants to manage to the cafeteria serving over 400 staff, and provide an in-house catering service.
The purpose of the contract is not to sub-let the cafeteria to a provider, nor is it intended that the cafeteria will service the general public. While each floor has small kitchenettes for use by staff (a total of seven across the floors), the respondent is not responsible for the maintenance or cleanliness of these areas apart from where noted in Sections 2.4 and 2.5.
Staff at Environment Canterbury want the opportunity to purchase a variety of healthy food choices from an on-site cafeteria at reasonable prices. The prices should reflect the nature of the contract, in that the successful respondent will have use of equipment and facilities at no charge.
